Bloom COVID-19 Test

A smart test designed to detect the presence of
IgG antibodies against SARS-COV-2 in the blood.

We believe that our internal product development program has the potential to develop a digitally-enabled, user friendly and data-driven COVID-19 antibody test for use at home by consumers and/or healthcare providers as part of the Bloom System.
Our COVID-19 antibody test is not yet authorized or cleared by the FDA for the U.S. market. We are working with relevant stakeholders and regulators to bring this technology to the market as soon as possible.

Not yet cleared by FDA.

In development: The Bloom COVID-19 Test.

We are developing the Bloom COVID-19 Test that uses lateral flow immunoassay technology to detect IgG antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in the blood of individuals who suspect to have or have had an infection.

When used as directed, a positive outcome of the Bloom COVID-19 Test is designed to confirm that the user has been in contact with the virus and has developed an immune response to it.

More than just an antibody test

When coupled with the Bloom Lab, Bloom App and Bloom Analytics, the Bloom COVID-19 Test is designed to interpret the test results and take into consideration the user's past and recent medical history, based on the current healthcare guidelines on SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19. Completely anonymously.

Designed to provide fast results

The Bloom COVID-19 Report is available on a smartphone within a few minutes - including a personalized interpretation of the results and recommendations.

The science behind the Bloom Report

To provide the best available evidence, our dedicated medical team conducts scientific studies and regular literature reviews to collect, appraise and analyze the newest guidelines and state-of-the-art research outcomes.

As a consequence of the growing literature and knowledge, the Bloom Report is frequently updated assuring highest quality information. Especially in the case of COVID-19, staying on top of recent developments is essential. COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2, which is the newly emerged type of coronavirus that caused the current outbreak of acute respiratory disease.

The Bloom COVID-19 Test measures IgG antibodies, which develop as part of the immune response after contact with SARS-CoV-2. The exact time point from which IgGs can be detected may vary, with first studies reporting a median seroconversion happening around day 14 after symptom onset.

Current literature does not provide sufficient information to determine how long IgGs are detectable or whether they might be protective. Further longitudinal studies are necessary to investigate the duration of possible immunity.
